Santa in the Slum

Hello and Merry Christmas in advance!

Welcome to the season of love once again. It’s that time of year when we gear up to show a special kind of love to those around us, Christ’s love. The love that left a kingdom in Heaven for unworthy sinners on Earth; the love that willingly shed blood so that the formerly inevitable death could pass over us; the love that spoke forgiveness and redemption; the love that accepted death so that we can live.

One of the best ways to celebrate this special bond of love we believers share is to give. Remembering that life is not limited to what we experience and the comfort we enjoy is one of the noblest mindsets a person can have. Yes, you may not have all you want, but you most probably have the things you need. Having a roof over your head, food on your table and shoes on your feet are things that should never be taken for granted. Why? Because not everybody has these privileges. However, this knowledge shouldn’t make you proud or haughty; rather, think of this as the opportunity to spread the special aforementioned love of Christ. Think of it as the opportunity to give.

And I have just the opportunity you’re looking for: Santa in the Slum.

Santa in the Slum is an innovative project put together by two God-led ministries: Pearl and Rubies Foundation founded by Adedeji Oluwaseyifunmi and The Precious Gems Ministry convened by Adebowale Oluwabunmi. It is a project that gives us believers a wonderful opportunity to reach out to orphaned children and the less privileged by giving to them and sharing the love, joy and hope that we have in Christ.

  • “He who is gracious and lends a hand to the poor lends to the Lord, and the Lord will repay him for his good deed.”- Proverbs 19:17 (AMP)

  • “He who is generous will be blessed, for he gives some of his food to the poor.”- Proverbs 22:9 (AMP)

Don’t miss out on the blessings found in giving; look around you for ways in which you can be a blessing to others this season. For more information on how you can give in cash or kind towards this particular outreach, please refer to the flyer above. God bless you!

So, it's yet another beautiful time to create beautiful memories in the lives of people living in the slum, we were at Makoko last year, this year, we are heading to Ebute Slum to put beautiful smiles on the faces of the less privileged living in the mentioned slum, if you have been looking for an avenue to bless and spread the Joy of this season, here's an opportunity to do that. Together, we can be the reason the households in the slum will smile this season.
