“God, please, just this once”, I said desperately. I was walking around in town, hoping to bump into someone – anyone - I know.
Why?
I needed cash…
Your right eyebrow probably just lifted by an inch. Hold on. Let me finish.
I needed cash because I had gone to the post office to buy a postal order, but then was told items like that could only be paid for in cash. Which I didn’t have on me. Because I get by well enough with my debit card.
So, then, as I roamed around town praying to meet someone I knew so that I could ask them for cash and transfer the money into their account instead, my eyes fell on a lady I knew.
“Yes! Good for you!”, you may be thinking. And rightfully so. However, things turned out a little differently from what you woukd expect.
I could’ve walked up to her and explained my situation, but I didn’t. Instead, I doubled my pace and walked in the other direction. The lady herself was without issues and there were no problems between us, but when I saw her I instinctively said in my heart, “No”.
I needed help, but not from her.
Later on, as I reflected, the state of my heart was revealed to me. I had asked God for an intervention. He had sent me one. I had slapped it away and gone back home without the very reason for which I had gone out in the first place.
That evening, I had to apologize before God and repent of the pride that had filled my heart.
This incident, however, has made me wonder since then: How else have I been bent on my own plans and ideas that I fail to see and accept what God is offering me? Who am I to say who God can or cannot use and what approach He is to take in answering my (or anyone else’s) prayers?
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Never rely on what you think you know. Remember the Lord in everything you do, and He will show you the right way.”- Proverbs 3:5-6 (GNT)
Ultimately, we have to remember that we are not God – no matter what ideology the world comes up with. None of us has an innate power to create every form of life or be in control of every circumstance. None of us knows the names of every person in our city or has records of the number of hairs on their heads, not to talk of the whole world. And, this should fill us with joy and hope.

The Almighty sees us. He saw me when I was desperately hoping to bump into someone as I walked the streets of the market, and He sees you as you read this wherever you are right now. He knows your situation. He knows your desires. He also sees that you’ve performed your part of the matter to the best of your ability.
Dear friend, I urge you now to give all of what’s left to Him and let Him be God in your life – however He chooses.
Love and light,
Stationarymissionary.
The words!😨
Really learnt big lessons.
We're not determiners of the way God chose. He is Alpha and Omega😥
At times, we mar opportunities with our own hands due to pride 😥😥
God help me to follow Him with every bit in Jesus' name, amen.
I'm blessed!
Thanks for sharing and please, keep writing, the words are a blessing
Hmm
Thanks for sharing. I was really blessed.
I just remembered I've once delayed myself by not using the person provided for me. It was then I realized people are in a certain place for a reason
