Imagine trying to start a car with a toothbrush
And then brushing your teeth with a key
Imagine wiping your nose with a body sponge
And then bathing with a roll of tissues
Imagine cooking in an active volcano
Imagine climbing with a pencil
Imagine...
None of this makes sense, right?
This is what God was teaching me a few days ago. That there is a right weapon for every battle. And, that the same way you won't pick up an arrow to attack an enemy right in front of you, you shouldn't be fighting thoughts with thoughts. It doesn't work that way.
• “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ”- 2 Corinthians 10:5 (NKJV)
See this? We cast down and bring thoughts into captivity to obedience to Christ. The way to do this is with our words.
I believe this is a battle we all face at one point or the other. Depending on your past or present, feelings and thoughts of depression, rejection, bitterness, frustration, envy, and fear can set in. The usual response to these thoughts is to wave them away, but is that really effective enough?

Speak!
Believe it or not, words carry power. You can't change your past, but you can speak into your future and declare it to be God-glorifying.
• “O land, land, land, hear the word of the Lord!”- Jeremiah 22:29 (AMP)
Never forget that the ground hears you, and situations respond to your words. You already know that God has a beautiful plan for you (Jeremiah 29:11); don't talk yourself out of it.
Action point: Write up a daily confession that aligns with God's will for your life. Speak!
